The arrival of our fertile eggs!! We are so EGG-cited (sorry, couldn't resist)!! Sometime during the first week of May our sweeties will be the proud parents of some baby chicks. We were all so worried as we left the classroom that first day...is the incubator maintaining its temperature? Is the water level ok?
Each kiddo felt like a nervous new parent-to-be!!
So...if you're going to hatch chicks, you just have to go all out! Set up your rotation schedule and put the kids in charge of being the mama hen and rotate the eggs (if you're feeling brave enough!!). The jobs I have are Official Egg Rotator (morning, lunch, and end of day), Incubator Engineer (checks that the temperature is maintained throughout the day), and Official Lid Lifter (holds the lid of the incubator as the Rotators rotate). "Why do you use the word Official?" you ask...because these job holders get to wear badges that identify their job for the day and ID badges make everything official!!
They take their jobs very seriously!
Keep checking back for more pictures and ideas!
