It will be here before we know it, huh? Great idea! I teach kindergarten, and one of the first things we learn is how to share. I ask everyone to bring in the same materials and everyone shares them. Nobody has their own pencil box. We have shower caddies on top of our tables to keep us and our supplies organized. It's one way to avoid fights and "stealing" and all that mess.

Great idea, thanks! One thing I learned my first year is to always be specific - for example, specify box of 12 crayola crayons. Otherwise you end up with some kids with the giant box (it is HUGE these days) and some kids with just a normal sized box. Aside from not being comfortable with the inequality, big boxes take up too much room in a desk.
