Learning Target Printables

Common Core.
This is definitely the phrase buzzing around hallways and in lounges across the country these days.
I love how clearly the expectations are layed out and do use these benchmarks to drive my instruction.  However, I've struggled to find the best way to put them on display so we can easily refer to them daily.

Then, I was introduced to the term "Learning Targets" and started researching it.  I found out that Learning Targets are kid-friendly statements directly related to the standards, specific to the day's lesson, and connected to assessment.  I thought this could be a great way to let the students know what we would be covering each day.  Now, I write the Learning Targets for the day on the posters below (just laminate them and use a dry erase marker).  I start our morning meeting by reading the targets and give a brief run-down of what we will be doing in each area.  Now, all of the kids know what the expected learning is for the day.
